When I first saw the photographs by Lori Nix, I immediately thought of the dioramas in The American Museum of Natural History. Then it hit me that my favorite series in her collection is “Unnatural History.” Irony aside, she not only photographs her subject matter, she builds it. You read that right. Where most photographers are content with the real world, Lori constructs her own world and then captures it for everyone to enjoy. We’ve got some shots of “Unnatural History” below, but check out all of her other works too.
