Last Day

Today is my last day of work at Mr. Boddington’s Studio! While I’m sad to be wrapping up this chapter in my life, I’m also excited about what’s to come. About 2 years ago, Derek and I moved to New York City so that he could pursue his masters at the School of Visual Arts and so that I could work at a proper studio. I got lucky when I stumbled across the job posting for a designer position at Mr. Boddington’s. It was everything I wanted: a small studio dynamic, experience working with both a letterpress and digital printer, drawing whimsical illustrations all day and working with a fabulous group of young creatives. Almost 2 years have passed and as Derek is nearing graduation, we sat down and talked about where we saw our future. As much as we want to love New York, we don’t. Don’t get me wrong, this city is a lot of fun and has access to almost everything. But that’s the problem, almost isn’t enough. Derek and I want to own a house with a a yard for our dogs and that really isn’t possible up here. We have decided that we want a better quality of life. So, we’re headed to more southern pastures. I can’t say where yet because there are still some opportunities that are up in the air. Until then, I’m going to enjoy a small break.
