It’s November and Newport News has already had snow twice, including this morning. With the sudden onset of cold weather I wanted to keep our miniature dachshund, Bowser, warm when we take him on walks. I starting knitting him a sweater about two weeks ago but little did I know that I would need to put it on him so soon.
I got the knitting pattern from a book of dog sweaters called Dog Gone Cute. Yeah, the name made me want to throw up too, but until I can make my own patterns I’ll have to put up with the cutesy names. Apart from the name, the design of the sweater is rather handsome. As you can see it incorporates a cable stitch on the back of the sweater. This is my first try at knitting a cable stitch pattern and I was delighted to see it come together after a few rows. The other perks of this sweater include the lovely collar and the ribbing around the sleeves and at the bottom of the sweater.
